Installing Singular 3-1-1 with PackageForTheWeb (Single File Distribution)
Remark: All images have been snapshot from Windows XP running in German.
(English meaning: Weiter -> Next, Zurück -> Back, Abbrechen -> Cancel)
Size of Singular-3-1-1-Full.exe: approx. 115 MB (complete packages,
including X, (x)emacs and surf)
Size of Singular-3-1-1-Small.exe: approx. 27 MB (only Singular
and basic Cygwin, without X, (x)emacs and surf)

Download Singular-3-1-1-Full.exe or Singular-3-1-1-Small.exe and remember the location in your file system where you have stored the file. As soon as the download has been completed start the executable. You will be guided through the setup process. (Default settings reflect recommendations by the Singular team.)
In detail, a window with the following contents should pop up:

Just click Next ("Weiter").

It is required that you agree with our license, the GPL.

Now packages are being extracted. These are temporary files and will be deleted automatically after setup.

Enter a root directory of your choice and click Next ("Weiter").

Now Cygwin including Singular is installed. This may take some time.
Finished! You can start Singular from the desktop or the start menu.
Please note: Please make sure to start Singular only in two ways: Either use one of the created shortcuts, or type "singular" in any Cygwin shell. (Especially for starting Singular inside (x)emacs, please stick to the first recommendation.)
