Description
Cygwin is now available in an x86 and an x86_64 version.
Therefore it may be worth a try to compile a 64 bit version of Singular on Windows to let Singular use more than 2GB on this platform.

AFAIK, Martin tried to build SW with both 32-bit AND 64-bit cygwin but there was a problem with one of these tries (i think with 64-bit)... Although it may have been resolved somehow...

Here are installation instructions for Singular (with Flint) on Cygwin32 and 64:

So far everything seems to work now.

As far as I know, the preliminary Singular 4.0 sources have already been updated to be compilable on x86_64 version (from my personal experience, I know that they do on x86). As for the packaging, I have a Cygport script that seems works on x86 and should also work on x86_64.
